Ayurvedic Specialty Treatments

Margaret is trained as an Ayurvedic Yoga Speclist with the Himalayan Institute and in Ayurvedic Specialty Treatments with Dr. Indu Arora of Yog Sadhna. Ayurvedic Treatments have been used over thousands of years of time by the Indian Culture. This therapeutic oiling has been used for thousands of years amongst families for healing and dosha pacification. Young and old, from birth to death, everyone in the family is a reciever and a giver of this nourishing work.

Treatments offered at our studio include the following:

Pada-Abhyanga: Pada- abhyanga is a special oil massage of feet, legs and knees focusing on reflexpoints. It is a very efficient therapy helping to maintain or restore proper functioning of all parts of your body including internal organs. This method is sometimes also called a zone therapy as specific points on your feet are massaged and compressed.

Shiro-Abhyanga: Shiro- abhyanga is an Ayurvedic head massage focusing on the shoulders, neck, face and head, the areas most vulnerable to stress and tension. The head massage induces a state of calm, peace and tranquility and promotes high levels of alertness and concentration.

Marma Facial: a Marma facial is a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage that opens up your marma (energy) points. Marma points are a part of Ayurveda, India’s ancient healing system. The body is covered with marma points, a quarter of which are on the face….consider them the sites where muscles, veins, ligaments, bones and joints meet. This work is nourishing and also includes the use of Ayurvedic oils and scrubs.

Other treatments include Nasya and Kati Basti. These two treatments are available upon request or recommendation.

All of these treatments include a lot of Ayurvedic Oils and products, many of which are also for sale at our studio.
